Caring for Antique Picture Frames

To do this you need to mix fifty percent linseed oil and fifty percent denatured alcohol in a small bowl. In order to prevent any damage to the picture it is best to remove it first if possible. If it cannot be removed you need to make sure that your soft clean rag is not dripping with the solution. Dip a small corner of the clean rag into the solution and wipe down all four sides of the frame. Just make sure that you only use a little of the solution at a time to prevent dripping on the painting. This is a job that should be done every three to six months.
